Chiropractic Adjustments

Adjustments work by applying manipulation (a controlled force) to the vertebrae. The goal of this treatment is to reduce subluxations (misaligned joints) which should increase range of motion. As the joint is realigned, it will help decrease pain by reducing nerve irritability and will improve overall joint function.

This technique can also be used on extremities such as hands, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles.

Adjustments can help improve the following:

Neck, mid-back, and low back pain symptoms | Headaches & migraines | Muscle spasms and tightness | Sciatica | Scoliosis | Reduction of inflammation | Vertigo | Blood pressure | Colic, acid reflux, and ear infections (young children & babies) | Athletic performance & flexibility | Posture | Sleep

Therapies

Intersegmental Traction (IST) works by producing passive motion that creates light stretching of the spine. The relaxing, massage-like effect of the roller table helps to mobilize joint restriction and fixated spinal joints. This procedure is used to reestablish normal range of motion in the spinal column and also relieve symptoms of back pain, disc problems, and reduce muscle tightness and spasms.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) involves delivering small, low-voltage electrical impulses to a muscle via electrodes placed on the skin. This causes the muscle to contract which leads to decreased pain and spasms, inflammation. It improves muscle strength and range of motion by increases blood circulation, aiding in repair. EMS also slows the process of muscle atrophy by strengthening weakened or unused muscles and can help retrain muscles after injury or surgery.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a treatment used to help mobilize the body’s soft tissue (muscles, tendons, fascia, etc). Massage is the best way to reduce stress and increase relaxation. It is also used to increase flexibility and range of motion. The benefits of massage go far beyond muscle relaxation and offers your body the ability to increase circulation which provides more energy and alertness, it also lowers the body’s heart rate and blood pressure. All these benefits add to the body’s overall reduction in chronic pain and tightness.

X-ray

X-rays are performed when indicated upon examination. X-ray imaging is a very beneficial tool that noninvasively and painlessly helps to rule out or diagnose conditions. This also greatly increases our ability to monitor your progress.

X-ray imaging is known to diagnose conditions such as: fractures, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, osteoporosis, degeneration and arthritis, subluxations, dislocations, cancer, etc.

Examination

Examinations are performed on the first visit. The examination includes but is not limited to an overview of medical history, palpation, posture analysis, range of motion testing, and diagnosis. All this is performed in order to determine the individual needs of the patient.

Sports Physical

Sports physicals are usually required by schools or professional teams. The sports history exam serves as a preparticipation evaluation and will help determine if it is safe for the athlete to compete.
